GATEWAY LA MOVES ITS OFFICES TO NEW LOCATION ON AIRPORT BOULEVARD

 (Los Angeles, Calif.) – The Gateway L.A. PBID has announced it has moved its offices to a new location on Airport Boulevard. The new offices will be located at 9841 Airport Blvd., Suite #100, in the Airport Center III building.
 

The new office space will allow the PBID to continue serving its members from the heart of the Gateway area, which has become the focus of new improvements, including the new Metro light rail station currently under construction and the proposed landside airport improvements, such as the new people-mover system that will connect pasengers directly to LAX.

Gateway To LA and LAPD Citizen
Preparedness Training Program

 

In partnership with Gateway to L.A., the Los Angeles Police Department recently put on a citizens preparedness training seminar for nearly 200 local employees and security staff.

The training focused on the mantra: “Run, Hide, Fight” and stressed that there are many simple strategies to keep yourself and others safe in the case of an active shooter similar to the recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino.

GATEWAY TO L.A. ZONE 2 CLEAN-UP


Gateway to L.A. recently undertook an area-wide clean-up effort in the newly added Zone 2 area. The event included trash pick-up, graffiti paint out and other beautification efforts along 96th Street. "Our newest members were the focus of this effort, which made the area cleaner and more attractive for local employees and visitors, alike," said Gateway to L.A. Executive Director Laurie Hughes.

METRO PANEL SELECTS ARTIST SHERIN GUIRGUIS TO CREATE ARTWORK FOR THE AVIATION/CENTURY STATION

A panel of art experts commissioned by Metro has selected artist Sherin Guirguis to create the artwork for the Aviation/Century Station, which is currently being developed in the Gateway area.

Guirguis, who was selected from among more than 300 artists who showed an interest in the project, will be responsible for artwork at a variety of locations, throughout the station, including pavilion glass panel walls at the entry, tile and mosaic murals on the concourse, porcelain enamel steel panels on the platform, metal fencing on the station’s exterior and walls and banners that will surround the station during construction.
